The famous silhouette ipod commercials helped give many bands a jumpstart to the mainstream, the Black Eyed Peas, Jet etc. Now here are a few more that you might not have heard of yet.
CSS - Music Is My Hot Hot Sex
this song was first used on a fan-made commercial for the ipod touch. it became an overnight hit(the ad) and apple picked it up, commissioning the video maker to produce a professional version of the ad. It became an even bigger hit (the song), and the video for it is the #1 most viewed song on youtube. there's some controversy over whether the hits generated (101 million so far) have been due to actual viewers or some AI bots trawling the net, but who cares its a good song anyway.

The Bird and The Bee - La la la
This jazz influenced electro-pop LA duo (now thats a mouthful) have a fresh sounding umm, sound, and you would have heard it too had their 2007 ipod touch ad been released.
Feature Cast - Channel Surfing
This funk-infused number sounds like it would fit well on the soundtrack for some sports game like an iteration of FIFA or Tony Hawk. This UK based DJ/Producer sure makes good beats to bounce and break too and has potential to be a good crossover act.
