Finley Quayle & William Orbit - Dice

First heard on the OC soundtrack, the intro is pretty mesmerizing and so is the hook. Put it down to top notch producing by William Orbit. nothing can compare... to when you roll the dice and come up with a hit like this.

The Hives - Tick Tick Boom

Now for a change of pace, this is a certified head-banger of a song. Now that's a pretty queer expression; is there some mysterious agency that actually goes around certifying songs as being "a hit/dud/whatever"? Not that it matters, as long as you listen to this song by the Swedish rockers.

Aqualung - Brighter Than Sunshine

Now this 'band' actually consists of one guy, something along the lines of Five for Fighting (both in music style and the one-man-band-ness). This song is a personal favourite of mine and was used in the film A Lot Like Love.

Acceptance - So Contagious

Much as we would like you to support all the musicians showcased here, it doesn't always work. Why? Could it be because everyone is too lazy to lift a finger other than the one that clicks the download link? Or might it be because people are too cheap to pay for good stuff? Tsk tsk. We wouldn't know, but no one will be blamed in this instance because the band in question has disbanded. Haha. The band members are now pursuing other projects though, find out more here. The song itself, is perfectly splendidly radio friendly and is as contagious as claimed.
